-ping there are two Chinese Clerks and their duties are:-

Fan Tsung Hing, 3rd. Grade Clerk:-

Daily entry and clearance of all ships in regis-

-ter of arrivals and departures. Daily

issue of Light Dues Receipts for all ships.

Daily, Quarterly and Annual Returns of Arrivals giving Nationality, Port from

which ships arrive, Number of trips, Ton- -naga, Crew, (discharge and Transit),

Endorsing British Ship Register on change of Master, Issuing Permits for ships to

enter the Harbour with expliosives *c., on

board, Making out Certificates of Competency of Masters, Mates, and Engineers for passed

candidates.
